Project Backstory
This kitchen sits in a custom home built by Sharp Homes in Wichita, Kansas. Our client wanted a statement surface that would carry the room, so we brought in Calacatta Nevasca quartzite for the countertops.
Calacatta Nevasca pairs a bright white background with clean gray veining, giving the marble-inspired look many homeowners want without the upkeep of marble. In a custom kitchen it reads crisp and open, and it lets cabinetry and hardware choices stand out against it.
We fabricated and installed the quartzite so the veining flows across the counters as a single design. Because quartzite is a hard, durable natural stone, it gives this custom build a surface that looks refined and holds up to real cooking.

They share a similar look, a white field with gray veining, but they are different stones. Quartzite is considerably harder than marble and far more resistant to scratching and etching from acids, so Calacatta Nevasca gives you the marble aesthetic with better durability for a busy kitchen.
